what sets us apart from the animals? is it opposable thumbs? how about the lack of fur? or maybe it's our ability to speak? or is there something called humanity?

I live a very boring life. There are no AK-47s in my neighborhood, or hardcore drugs or anything else like that. my neighborhood is sedate, with children playing frisbee and running through the yards. sure, they're noisy and they probably smell funny, but all in all, i live a boring life.

there are only a few things i ask... i want a job. i want to be independent. i want to be able to get in my car and drive where ever the hell i want to. instead, there's fear. that's what i think makes us human, it is our fear. No other animal on the planet sabotages its own actions. we are free to. we have society to take care of us. we can be fuckups and bums and lonely. we don't die until the carcinogens build up or our cholesterol chokes the life out of us.
