In the religious credo of liberal economists (such as Milton Friedman and his bevy of acolytes), the market should decide just about everything. In an unregulated market, child prostitution would be normal. The market would find a price based on supply and demand.

Just because a price can be set, doesn't make it a good thing. Society's have a right to regulate themselves to protect the least of its citizenry. Anyone who advocates for deregulation is essentially stepping in a direction that privileges plutocracy over democracy. Just a thought.
